The KES1 is constructed of a solid alder body, bolt on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 3 single coil pickups with a 5 way selector switch, vintage chrome tremolo aka "whammy bar", and enclosed steel die cast tuners. Kona stratocasters are great for both rhythm and lead play. This advantage stems from the three single coil pickups and the five way switch. Typically the neck pickup is used for lead play and the bridge pickup is used for rhythm.
